If someone hits you on the left cheek, and you like reading, then do as the bible says and turn the other one.

Research has shown that the reading process is localized in the left hemisphere (left half of your brain) so you might want to protect that bit if you like to occasionally snuggle in with a book.
Of course, when it comes to Arabic, everything is always different. Research shows that the reading process starts off in the left part, but the right hemisphere is equally activated after 500 milliseconds from seeing the stimulus. You literally have to use different parts of your brain to read Arabic. Talk about switching gear!
