I have been quite silent lately and so this post is long overdue. To recap some highlights of the recent months… In December Linotype released my Neue Helvetica Arabic. It was a very tough project to take on, but I was happy to take on the challenge. The response to it has been largely positive. My article on ilovetypography.com was not your typical marketing exercise and its announcement on twitter got retweeted 234 times. A bit crazy to get such a strong reaction but it was great to see such a great interest in Arabic typography. Not everyone loved it though, and I will have to live with that.
I was very lucky to go on a very long Christmar holidays and my focus since I got back was work and my upcoming legibility experiment in March. That is taking up all of my free time and it’s the biggest challenge I’ve taken on in my studies. Hope all goes well!
Anyway, to compensate for my continued silence, I’m linking to some recent interviews. I’ve actually been doing quite a lot of that. Here are 2 of the latest: Winsoft published this interview as part of their Arabic Typography contest, and just today this was published on Fen Magazine.
